How Reliance Jio plans to bring 2G, 3G users to its 4G network

Customers  without  a  LTE  or  VoLTE  smartphone  can  download  Jio  Join  app  on  their  2G  or  3G  device  and  together  with  Mi-Fi  router,  calls  will  be  routed  via  Jio's  high-speed  4G  network,  Reliance  Jio  Infocomm  SVP  &  CTO  Udit  Bajpayi told  a  TV  channel. 

NEW DELHI: Indian billionaire Mukesh Ambani-owned fourth-generation (4G) technology-based telecom player Reliance Jio Infocomm will strategically leverage VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) app 'Jio Join' that will allow 2G or 3G users to access Jio's high-speed network to make voice calls and download seamless data, a senior company official told NDTV in an interview.

Customers without a LTE or VoLTE device can download Jio Join app on their 2G or 3G device and together with Mi-Fi router, calls will be routed via Jio's high-speed 4G network, Reliance Jio Infocomm SVP & CTO - North Udit Bajpayi told TV channel.

Bajpayi also said that Jio's heterogeneous network with a combination of access technologies such as LTE, Wi-Fi and FTTx integrated with high-capacity IP-MPLS network will give consumers a differentiated experience.

As i promise in my Previous post.. this is my 2nd post.  Reliance Jio finally launched but its not yet open to all. Officially its only available for some selected Samsung Devices and All Lyf phones. Here in this tutorial we are going to guide you about How To Activate Jio Preview offer in almost all Android Devices. Yes you read it right, now you can activate Reliance Jio Preview Offer which includes unlimited data and calling feature for next 3 months in all Android devices whether its Samsung or any other brand. So let's proceed further and check out this awesome way to activate Reliance Jio Preview offer.

Update : Bug Has Been Fixed Now So Do Not Download MyJio App Directly From PlayStore. Follow Below Link & Download Older Version apk File.

Steps To Follow :

1. Download MyJio older version apk file from Here.

2. Once you download, open it and click on " Install All " button.

3. Now wait for few minutes & let it download all 11 apps of MyJio app.

4. Now fully close MyJio app.

Here Comes The Tricky Part......

5. Once you download all apps, Disconnect your Internet connection whether its Wifi or Mobile Data.

6. Now open MyJio app ( Do NOT turn ON Internet connection).

7. Once you open MyJio app, click on Open just beside MyJio.

8. Once you click on Open, you can see Get Jio Sim option.

9. Boom !! Now turn ON your Data and fill all required details.

10. Finally visit your Nearest Reliance Jio Store and show them your Barcode for Jio Sim.

This Post is only for those who managed to get Jio Sim for Non-Jio Phones. Here's the process to activate it correctly.

1. Sim will only work on the device from which you generated the barcode. So don't buy bar codes or generate fake barcodes by changing IMEI. It won't work. Use your own device and wait for my next post to Generate Barcode on your own device and then try your luck on Reliance Stores. It's legal as you got the barcode from your device only.

2. Install All Jio Apps beforehand using wifi or mobile data. Specially JioJoin App.

3. After you grab sim, wait for sms: Your phone is ready for televerification. It will come by at best 48 hours. For me it took 2hrs only. Put sim in slot 1. Turn internet on in slot 1.

3. Open JioJoin App. Accept permissions. It will automatically verify your sim. (Make sure jio mobile data is on)

4. Now call 1977 using JioJoin App with mobile data on. This is VoLTE Calling. Calling with internet data. Your default dialer won't work.

5. Televerify your sim. You will get internet settings via sms and some subscription plan sms within 5 minutes.

6. All done. Test your internet by downloading and calling. (Yes, all calls you do will be VoLTE Calls, and it needs internet). You don't need internet to receive calls however.

7. Now open MyJio App. Click Skip. It will Log you via Mobile No. Now you can see you got 2GB Data and 100 Minute Call.

To get Unlimited follow this:

Quickly sign up for account on my jio. 

Now clear data of all jio apps including myjio. 

Keeping net off, enter myjio app, it will show get sim option. 

Turn on internet, click sign in.

Now it will automatically show you popup to accept the offer. Click submit. You will get it.

8. Sim will NOT WORK on non 4g devices. You must need 4g device which may or may not support Volte. If it supports, then better, you will get better calling experience. Even if it doesn't support volte, don't worry, JioJoin will work normally.

That's all. If you still couldn't manage a sim, sorry! :(

PS: Reliance Store Manager said that this preview offer will also come for other devices once it launches. Don't know it will be true or not, but if it becomes true, then awesome :)

PPS: Tested Call and Internet: Calling is crystal clear on my device. I could download around 10MB in one second. 21MB App got downloaded in 2 seconds. :)

UPDATE: POINT 1: If your barcode is generated from other device or if you already bought barcodes from others or generated by faking imei, then only way to activate it is using a VOLTE ENABLED PHONE. If you don't know about VOLTE, perhaps your phone doesn't support it. Only VOLTE Enabled phones can activate other device generated barcodes.
